Capitals rally late to force Game 6 against the Penguins

Alex Ovechkin answered his critics as the Washington Capitals scored two third period goals just 27 seconds apart to beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-2 in game five of their National Hockey League playoff series on Saturday.

Saturday night, in a 4-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, these once-damned Capitals rose from the dead. "Everybody concentrate. That's what we need".

The Predators won their ninth straight playoff game in Nashville going back to last postseason.

Burakovsky stepped up as well.

"I've been creating a lot of chances, so it was nice to finally get one", Burakovsky said.

"Just like all players, you grow into certain roles with your team", Trotz said. "There's no room for anybody not to be at their best and all it's going to take is all we have, and all we have is our leadership, the 20 players who dress, and they're going to have to be all in".

Ovechkin scored Washington's final goal of Game 5, assisted by Eller, while Nicklas Backstrom netted the game-tying goal early in the third period, assisted by Ovechkin's top-line replacement, Andre Burakovsky.

"We've got to have a short memory", Sullivan said.

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Corey Perry scored 6:57 into the second overtime after the Anaheim Ducks rallied from a three-goal deficit in the final minutes of regulation, completing a spectacular victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Friday night and seizing a 3-2 lead in their second-round playoff series. But with Kuznetsov's Russian accent, it was unclear whether he said Malkin's query was about sticks, skates or steaks, coincidentally Kuznetsov's favorite American dish.

With the returns of Sidney Crosby and Conor Sheary who suffered concussions in game three, the Penguins have made a decision to shake things up a little bit. The Caps came from behind in Game 5 to force this Game 6. "We still have a chance", was how Backstrom described the message.

The toddler's mother, however, Chiranut Trairat, told the Associated Press , "I am not angry at Facebook or blaming them on this". Jirasak Siemsak said the bodies of Wongtalay and his daughter were found in a hotel after the videos were reported .

Crosby had an assist and three shots on goal in 19:10 of ice time, but the Penguins lost 4-2. The over/under total for the game is set at 5 goals. “The last (win is) always the hardest to get. "Disappointing but move on".

The Capitals scored three times in the third period against reigning champions the Penguins to stave off elimination in their second-round playoff series on Saturday.

"I haven't been here forever but, one, I've never been in a Game 7", said Washington forward T.J. Oshie, who opened the scoring with a first-period power-play goal.

Andre Burakovsky took the place of Alex Ovechkin on the top line in an attempt to balance out the scoring.

Keep an eye out for that hole in the Penguins' blue line - it's going to be important. "I thought he was huge".

"I would say just a little bit more zone time", he said.

Pittsburgh regained the lead early in the second period on a pretty passing sequence on a power play.

Evgeni Malkin has been fantastic in the playoffs but is being overshadowed by Crosby. C Sidney Crosby's assist on LW Jake Guentzel's third-period goal was his 97th in postseason play, moving him past Hall of Fame C Mario Lemieux for the Pittsburgh record. "You're sitting right next to a guy who elevated his game, so you better elevate your game". Another night where Washington's comments echo Sullivan's "Right Way" elements might spell trouble for the Penguins.

The Penguins pulled their goalie for the extra attacker with over two minutes remaining in the third but were unable to get even one past Holtby. They gave up the first goal four times against Pittsburgh.
