Map Rotations To Be Much Quicker In Splatoon 2

It has been revealed that the game's multplayer map rotation is every 2 hours, which is different compared to the first game's multiplayer map rotation of every 4 hours.

As for the reason behind the change, Splatoon 2 \/em producer Hisashi Nogami explained, "We feel that part of the gameplay is actually selecting which weapons would be best for that combination of two maps". Plus, no matter where you go, there's more than enough paint to splat.

Two hours is still a long time, but at least it's better than nothing.

Local polls bode well for May ahead of GE
And it was more popular among Liberal Democrat (44 per cent) and Labour (40 per cent) supporters than Tories (19 per cent). Results showed a loss of 144 seats for Labour - only five weeks before the snap general election.

"In practice, this just means that you're likely to end up playing the same map over, and over, and over again". Another unusual feature is the map rotation. "After 13, I was ready to call it a day". Nogami explained to Edge why the team made a decision to stick to its squirt guns while addressing player concerns in another manner.

Splatoon 2 isn't getting rid this map rotation but rather shortening the refresh rate. This is a system that adds unpredictability with map selection and such, but having to wait for certain selections to come up can be a pain. The original game rotated maps every four hours, but Splatoon 2 will rotate the maps at two hour intervals.

One of my biggest hopes for Splatoon 2 is that Nintendo will take little suggestions here and there to improve online play, and it seems like they're on the right track. "There's plenty of value even for people who had the last game".
