'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' tops box office with $145 million

"That raises the global weekend total to about $269 million and the movie's total global take so far to $428 million".

The breathtaking showing by Guardians ended the reign of "The Fate of the Furious", this week s box office runner-up. Besides Saldana as Gamora, the rest of the "Guardians" crew has Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon and Vin Diesel as Baby Groot. That title belongs to Beauty and the Beast that released back in March to $174 million. But it also turns back the tide of underperforming sequels, a developing scourge to Hollywood. "Really, poor quality films have been the thing that has, more than anything, been rejected by consumers over time. This is such a fresh and exciting film ... it's the kind of event that gets people excited about going to theaters".

Marvel fans can expect Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 to land somewhere around $900 million worldwide when the film finally closes its box office run sometime at the end of summer.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is out in theaters now, and true to the news, the movie had five after-credits scenes, each just as fun as the last.

All that adds up to Marvel Studios having another hit movie in a franchise that doesn't look to have a finish line anytime soon.

ME has prohibited medical underwriting since the 1990s, well before former President Barack Obama signed the ACA into law in 2010. We'll be doing their job evaluations when this is over, and we can send them on their way if they fail to meet our expectations.

But the Marvel property will have tough competition on the horizon in the forms of "Alien: Covenant", "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales", "Cars 3," "Transformers: The Last Knight", "Despicable Me 3" and "War for the Planet of the Apes". It is expected to surpass the lifetime gross of at least half of the Marvel catalog by its second weekend in the USA market, where it will nearly certainly retain its place at number one. "There's a lot out there".

Set to the backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team's adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos.

Meanwhile, Ken Marino's comedy How to Be a Latin Lover made $5.2 million in its second weekend, to reach a total of $20.6 million. Gifted brought its total take to $19.2 million with $2.1 million this past weekend. It is also the eleventh highest grossing worldwide release of all time. Baahubali 2: The Conclusion dropped four spots to seventh place with $3.2 million. The Tollywood film (in the Telugu language) has in two weeks grossed $147.3 million globally, according to comScore. Although the film is falling quite a distance behind Furious 7 at the domestic box office, it has performed with stellar returns overseas.

With the release of a Marvel film nothing else dare even think about opening and so there are no other new film this week. The film has now earned a whopping 427.6 million US dollars at the global box office through Sunday, according to studio figures collected by comScore. When the original was released in 2014, it was a relatively unknown property that managed to smash records for the month of August when it opened to more than $94 million domestically (still modest by Disney/Marvel standards). The Boss Baby, from Fox, took third with $6.2 million from 3,284 locations.

At the domestic box office, Beauty and the Beast has pulled in $487 million. "And, like in both Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, we will work on creating the story that goes beyond what you expect".
