That's the kind of harsh certainty some voters (translation: Trump detractors) want to see more often, in the press - and the sort of total confidence that other voters (Trump supporters) view as elitist or biased.

Reservists commit to serving a minimum of one weekend a month plus two weeks a year, although flexible options permit service on weekdays, according to the Navy's website. "All previously scheduled", White House communications director Mike Dubke told CNN.

Trump defended the inconsistency, tweeting Friday that "as a very active President with lots of things happening, it is not possible for my surrogates to stand at podium with flawless accuracy!" (Saturday Night Live likely will spoof Spicer in its cold open, around 11:45 p.m. ET this weekend.) Actress Melissa McCarthy is expected to portray him once again after popular past impressions. They said Trump was prompted by a scathing memo written by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, only to acknowledge Trump had been planning to fire Comey regardless of the recommendation.
