David De Gea Won't Play Europa League Final Confirms Jose Mourinho

LYON Ajax withstood a brilliant comeback from Lyon to reach the Europa League final despite a 3-1 away defeat on Thursday.

The Europa League final is undoubtedly the biggest game of Manchester United's season.

United's Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini opened the scoring for the hosts in the 17th minute when he headed home a perfectly placed cross from Marcus Rashford at the Old Trafford stadium, reports Efe. We suffered, but we are through.

"The boys gave everything they had and I'm really pleased for them". We had a fantastic record of 25 matches [unbeaten]. It would be incredible.

United would require two of Liverpool, Manchester City or Arsenal to slip up in their final few games of the season, and would need to win all of their matches in order to solidify a Champions League place for next term.

"I don't know the incident, I didn't see", Mourinho said. The game was emotional for everyone. "Some kept control better than others", Mourinho said.

Roncaglia's not new in these kind of situations and probably Eric was a bit naive. It has been a great journey, it did not end the way we wanted it to, but we gave it our very best and no one can ask for more.

"Ajax will be hard. And hopefully nobody will complain, because we have a final three days later".

May the fourth be with you on 'Star Wars Day'
A long time ago, we were just stargazing kids, worshipping our letterbox collection of George Lucas' original Star Wars trilogy. Because it's another reason you can say " May the Force be with you " (see trending Twitter hashtag #MayThe4thBeWithYou ).

"It hurts, because we played an nearly ideal game but that first goal cost us dearly", said Lyon defender Maxwell Cornet.

"It's so important for us, as Champions League qualification is nearly impossible through the league". We had put chances to get a different result.

United can not finish below sixth this season, no matter what happens in their remaining three fixtures. "We're in the final, that's what counts".

And, when assessing United's chances in the Europa League final against Ajax, Mourinho was keen to offer his thanks to Oliver, who was the official at Stamford Bridge.

Jose Mourinho will stick with Sergio Romero as his Europa League keeper, insisting De Gea won't play the final.

Whereas Ajax's season finishes tomorrow, United still have three league games to play - beginning with a clash against Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow - and Mourinho said he would have no qualms about making sure his players are in top shape for the trip to Sweden.

"I never saw a bad face, I always saw them supporting each other".
