Raptors PG Lowry to opt out of contract

After two straight seasons of being eliminated by LeBron James and the Cavs, Lowry spoke at length about how no one in the Eastern Conference seems to be closing the gap on James.

When asked to assess his performance on the season, Casey said "could have done better".

Of course, the Canadians took it all in good spirits and laughed as James proceeded to take the inbounds pass and romp their team out of the 2017 NBA Playoffs. That tied Cleveland with the 1975 Golden State Warriors for the lowest margin of victory in a four-game sweep in National Basketball Association history. The question is, how do you know when your window has closed?

"Yeah, for sure. I've done a lot of starting throughout my career, even in San Antonio", Joseph said.

"If we had LeBron on our team too, we would've won", DeRozan said. They have one of the greatest players of all time.

"It's what I want to be". But the media learned that Kyle would be sitting out Game 4 with a sprained ankle.

"People say, 'Oh, you're over 30, '" Lowry said.

They showed me in every moment great attitude, great work rate and to trust in my work. We have to improve in the next season - we need to find solutions.

"I think, in my opinion, just more shooting", DeRozan said. "It's going to be a decision on him that he's going to have to make, and I support him 100 per cent".

"Give credit to (Raptors coach Dwane) Casey, he had them ready to play, they came out and competed".

"We gained something that goes way beyond basketball".

Rest is always a good thing after the six-month, 82-game marathon of the regular season and the pressure-packed regimen of the playoffs. "That's why he's here, and that's why we've got so many shooters around 'Bron and Ky, so they can make plays". Ibaka has intoned many times that he prefers playing centre to power forward, which was an issue in Orlando and would be in Toronto moving forward should both he and Jonas Valanciunas return. He had been questionable this weekend, as the team had hoped for Lowry to feel okay to play in Game 4.

In their second go-around against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Raptors went away from what had made them successful just a year ago when they pushed "the King" to six games.

"It's all Kyle Lowry's turtleneck's fault", one person wrote on Twitter about Kyle's appearance during the Raptors' final game of this season, while another added, "Why Kyle Lowry dressed like Wesley Snipes in New Jack City".

Gay, a veteran looking to return to a playoff team, would be owed $14,263,566 in the last year of a three-year contract and has until June 10 to officially opt out of his deal.
