Top 10 Best Dressed Stars EVER At The Met Gala

Caroline Kennedy is known for her classic sense of style and fashionable know-how, so it came as quite a shock to see the diplomat take to the red carpet at this year's Met Gala in a highly unflattering - and rather freakish - dress that quite closely resembled an antique lampshade.

On Monday Rihanna owned the red carpet in a dress by Japanese designer Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garcons fame, now the subject of the Costume Institute's first monographic show on a living designer since Yves Saint Laurent in 1983.

Kate is wearing Tory Burch.

Perry wore a veiled dress created just for her by John Galliano, while Pharrell's wife, Helen Lasichanh, wore one of Kawakubo's avant-garde, bulbous and armless jumpsuits.

Check out all the red carpet pics from this year's Met Gala below. Earning some major fashion cred for sticking to the theme, she sported a bright red, armless creation straight from Comme des Garcons collection last season.

The Met Gala is meant to be a fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute, but who are we kidding-it's also one of the best nights for scrolling through Twitter.

Economy Commissioner Pierre Moscovici called on him to rein in the budget deficit of the Eurozone's second-biggest economy. Laure Hitier, course director at Alliance de Francaise, told Express that everybody was confident of Macron's victory.

American Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, who as a long-standing chairman had the final say over all the attendees, wore a shimmering Chanel dress. The sleeves of Dane's flurry of ruffles in a white blouse extended well beyond her hands, paired with a simple pair of black trousers.

Numerous stars in attendance during last night's Met Gala seemed to have missed the memo, whether due to playing it safe or perhaps sheer ignorance.

Bella had the more talked-about and exciting look of the Hadid sisters with her see-through, sequined Alexander Wang jumpsuit, with the designer declaring that the young model is the "body of a generation" on the carpet.

Katy was snapped on her way into the event in a lace look, complete with floor-length red veil and train, which was giving us what we can only sum up as "futuristic space lobster on her wedding day".
