Spurs' Kawhi Leonard expected to get MRI after Game 1 loss

SAS: Kawhi Leonard (sprained left ankle) is questionable.

"Zaza is my teammate", West said. "You can't listen to people on Twitter", Durant said.

The Warriors are expecting just that after watching role player Jonathan Simmons fill in with 18 points and stellar defense in the 114-75 win at Houston last Thursday and knowing how prepared and professional Gregg Popovich coached teams usually are. I have a lot of respect for Kawhi.

The Senior VP of NBA, Joe Borgia, reminded that the "slide under" incident, whether it is on objective or not, should still be called as a foul. And Pop is not happy with Pachulia.

The injury not only cost the Spurs a ballplayer for however amount of time, it also nearly surely cost the Spurs a victory.

Leonard, the Spurs' leading scorer and two-time reigning Defensive Player of the Year, had stunned the Warriors on Sunday with 26 points in 23 minutes, making seven of his 13 shots while getting eight rebounds and three assists.

"I just did what I was supposed to do and challenged his shot".

But while much of the discussion focused on intent, Popovich was having none of it. "This is crap", he said. You ever hear of manslaughter? You still go to jail if you were [texting and driving] and never meant to kill somebody.

I sure hope the National Basketball Association does something about this over the summer, so we don't have to see any more stars go down. "I wish it didn't happen, [wish it] had a different result basically". "It's unsafe, it's unsportsmanlike". "And this particular individual has a history with that kind of action. I'll have to see the play".

Popovich likely was trying to draw the league's attention to other fouls the Warriors may have committed during the game, perhaps even trying to get it to punish Pachulia.

'Deadwood' actor Powers Boothe dies at 68
Born and raised on a Texas farm, Powers grew up to graduate from Texas State University. "I loved working with Powers Boothe ". Boothe's award win arrived in the midst of an actors strike and he chose to cross the picket line to accept his gong.

Kawhi, for what it's worth, said he didn't think the play was dirty. "You've got to time that perfectly if you want to hurt somebody". I think we've done a decent job of not being discouraged.

Team is as team does. He said it's just one of those things that happen during competition. It's quite another when you get on the wrong side of the Spurs. In fact, this four-minute compilation of his dirty play, which features the plays Popovich mentioned during his rant, was published on YouTube back in February, long before Sunday's incident.

The impact of Leonard's departure was evident at both ends of the floor.

The Warriors are dealing with their own injuries although they aren't as significant as missing an MVP candidate in Leonard.

He lashed out at Warriors centre Zaza Pachulia, blaming the Georgian global for the risky play that has ruled his star Kawhi Leonard out of tomorrow's clash.

Popovich scoffed at being asked how much more hard beating the Warriors will be without Leonard, who up until the injury was the best player on the floor in Game 1.

Popovich said if Leonard remained in the game and San Antonio lost, he would go to practice the next day and "move on".

Golden State outrebounded San Antonio 43-37. Curry exploded for 40 points and hit the game-tying three-pointer that put an exclamation mark on the Warriors comeback. Hard enough to envision the Spurs beating Golden State with Leonard.

"When he went down, the Warriors were starting to pick up, to feel good about themselves, to increase the pressure on everybody, and that's when we struggled, because we couldn't have the guy that we run those plays (through) and get them off their pressure". You want to know if that lessens our chances or not. That's how we feel.
