Top four for Arsenal, Utd?

Top four for Arsenal, Utd?

Manchester United's Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho gestures on the touchline during the English Premier League football match between Arsenal and Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium in London on May 7, 2017.

Gunners boss Wenger on Sunday enjoyed his first ever win over Mourinho in 16 competitive meetings, but could not resist a dig at the celebrations in the Emirates.

Arsenal face Southampton in the league on Wednesday night and Wenger is set to stick with the desired formation which has seen four wins in five games.

"Today (Sunday) they leave waving their scarves". The Arsenal fans were finally cheering and singing and it is nice for them.

"For example, the match against Chelsea (which United won 2-0), I could feel they (the fans) wanted to play". They were walking the streets with their heads low. "He is a big manager so to have that something that is not normal", Mourinho said. I am not enjoying that.

"But they are a big club".

Arsene Wenger publicly criticised Xhaka, who joined from Borussia Monchengladbach for £35mn in the summer, after the player was sent off for the second time of the season against Burnley in January and advised him "not to tackle".

"I don't think so, for two reasons".

Meanwhile club captain Wayne Rooney said he wants to stay at United, even if the lack of game-time is grating on the club's all-time top scorer.

"We lost four players in one week, when we lost (Chris) Smalling and (Phil) Jones in the (England) national team and (Marcos) Rojo and Zlatan (Ibrahimovic) against Anderlecht (in the previous round)".

"He's leading it, he's the manager, he's guiding us through and guiding the club through", he said.

'Our options of entering the Champions League through the Premier League have decreased after this week, but we will keep on trying until the last game, first at Tottenham this coming weekend.

"I'm personally desperate to get to the final and to try and win it", Carrick told UEFA's official website.

"Hopefully we can get that confidence to take into the final". They played from the first minute until the last minute.

However, with a spot on offer to the winners of the Europa League, United could finish outside the top four and still qualify for the Champions League.
