Voice and Vision Steal the Show at Google's Annual Developer Conference

Though not a competitor, Google's slimmed-down phone operating system aimed at cheap Android phones is reminiscent of Facebook's own "skinny" version, called Facebook Lite. And for developers, the company has come out with a new feature called Vitals, which will allow them to discover potential issues with ther applications that can adversely affect the phone's security, battery....the vital signs. Now we're getting some new kinds of VR headsets that have a pretty interesting concept: they're completely standalone. It will first be available as part of Google's voice-controlled digital assistant - which bears the straightforward name "Google Assistant" - and Photos app. Suggested Sharing essentially recommends other people to share photos you just took with, including to iPhone users who have Google Photos. Google will also let you share whole photos libraries with others.

Throughout the demonstration, Google made it a point to share how machine learning and AI was sorting photos and giving recommendations. Google is also adding more music and video services to Home. It's also a familiar challenge, considering many people start their job hunt with a Google search. Actually, Android O has been lurking about in the developer preview mode since a few months now.

Google is expected to give the crowd a look at new twists in its Android software for mobile devices.
