Amid White House crisis, Pence tries to avoid political fray

Still, how could Pence claim in March that he'd just learned about Flynn's questionable lobbying when it was widely reported in the months after the election, and Representative Elijah Cummings even wrote Pence a letter on November 18 bringing the matter to his attention?

Though Pence will continue to be a "loyal soldier" because he is a "relentlessly positive guy, he "looks exhausted", a senior administration adviser observed on Thursday, outlining the vice president's schedule and trying to explain his relative absence from the public eye".

The Democratic Party has been saying for months the president is uniquely unfit for office, has the temperament of a toddler, is a Nazi sympathizer and is, frankly, a disgrace.

If Mike Pence goes from being an IN governor with questionable reelection prospects to the leader of the free world IN a few short years, he will have pulled off one of the most stunning reversals IN American politics.

The mounting scandal, and now the existence of Pence's PAC, has energized chatter about his potential role in replacing the president or becoming president some day.

Those of us who have known Pence prior to his unlikely ascension to the Vice-Presidency aren't surprised by his acquiescence; Pence is not particularly intelligent, thoughtful or self-aware.

However, in terms of temperament, he is the total opposite of Trump and represents stability.

Donald Trump has said he fired James Comey as FBI Director because he was '"unpopular", during a press conference with the Colombian president.

America is already worse off for Donald Trump's presidency.

Terry has been on the bench 11 times since last starting - in the FA Cup win at Wolves - appearing twice in the final minutes. This huge defeat saw Conte revert back to his old formation in the 3-4-3.

"Good grief. I'm not even going to give credence to that", he said.

While there have been many protests lined up, Jaskowski said he felt it was an incorrect assumption to believe the University community was completely against the decision to select Pence as the Commencement speaker.

Pence also talked up Trump's tax plan, which includes cutting the corporate tax rate to 15 percent, according to a one-page preview recently released by the White House.

Pence managed to stay away from the Comey controversy for at least a day, as he spent Thursday addressing a U.S. Chamber of Commerce investment summit, while standing by Trump.

"Don't read into 2020 as anything other than his running for re-election as vice president in 2020 and supporting other candidates", an unnamed source told NBC News. "I'm not as anxious [Pence] would accidentally start a nuclear war because some Breitbart lunatic floated a conspiracy that got under his skin".

When Trump ousted Comey, administration officials said the president only did so after receiving a memo from Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Attorney General Jeff Sessions. "And the reason comes down to one word: crisis".

I pick on Pence because he is the most prominent and highest-ranked of Trump's lackeys.

Even activist and filmmaker Joss Whedon conceded that he would rather have the lesser (or possibly, the saner) of the two evils. Democrats said that strained credibility. At the start of the administration, the vice president publicly defended Flynn against allegations that he had discussed sanctions with Russia's ambassador to the USA before Trump's inauguration. Pence could, of course, use any money he raised to further his and Republican interests in the 2018 midterm and 2020 presidential election.
