Donald Trump says he fired James Comey because he was 'unpopular'

The day after the Department of Justice appointed former FBI Director Robert Mueller as a special counsel to the congressional investigations into Democrats' claims of Russian interference in USA elections, Trump said he respected the decision, but added: "I think that divides the country".

But the New York Times report claiming Trump asked former Federal Bureau of Investigation chief James Comey to end the probe into former national security adviser Michael Flynn emboldened Green.

Comey associates this week revealed the existence of a memo Comey wrote after his February 14 meeting with Trump in which he says the president asked him to shut down the FBI investigation into ousted National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. Santos is expected to ask Mr. Trump, who is making cuts to foreign aid, to renew funding to support a peace agreement between the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces.

"They've just watched over the last 10 days, people who went out on a limb on the Comey firing and said it was result of the memo from the deputy Attorney General, and had their limb sawed off by Donald Trump himself without a flinch", pundit Charles Krauthammer said.

"We invite you to testify at a public hearing of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary regarding the circumstances of your termination as director of the FBI and your interactions with Trump and Obama administration officials regarding the FBI's Russian Federation investigation and Clinton email investigation", they wrote.

The first leg had finished goalless, and the second leg at the Hillsborough Stadium on Wednesday evening ended 1-1. Mooy, who was outstanding yet again for Huddersfield , converted his penalty in the shootout.

Asked if he'd ever done anything that would merit impeachment, Trump said, "I think that's totally ridiculous. There are people within our own unelected bureaucracy that want to sabotage President Trump and our entire America First movement", the email to Trump's supporters began.

Mr. Trump called his meeting with Santos "productive", as he said future meetings will be.

Speaking up for his central campaign promise, Trump was uncharacteristically laconic.

"We've got a lot to ask him about", Lynch said.
