For the third year in a row, Liam and Emma take the top spots for most popular names for boys and girls in Maine.

The Social Security Administration announced the most popular baby names in Minnesota for 2016.

For comparison, the top names in Arkansas in 2015 were Emma and William.

New Jersey's list of girls' names closely resembles the national list, with only Mia not in the top five on the national list.

In 2016, there were 712 boys given the name "Noah" in the Keystone State, while 747 girls have "Emma" on their birth certificates.

Noah has held that top spot four times overall, while Emma three times.

This year's winners for biggest jump in popularity in the Top 1,000 are Kehlani and Kylo.

For boys, Kylo soared from number 3,269 in 2015 to number 901. The administration attributed this hike to singer Kehlani Parrish who was nominated for a Grammy past year. In 2015, Kylo was number 3,269. The royal family likely had something to do with this increase in popularity, or the 2015 World Series champions, the Kansas City Royals, may have influenced parents-to-be.

The name Zayn also rose in 2016, which could be based on Zayn Malik, the former One Direction star, Forbes reported. Does your baby's name make the cut?
