Impeachment: Donald Trump's worst nightmare?

Impeachment: Donald Trump's worst nightmare?

But Americans shouldn't get ahead of themselves just yet. "The petition campaign addresses Trump's flagrant violations of the Constitution's emoluments clauses that forbid financially profiting from the presidency".

Baker followed-up by asking the President feels he;s done something that might be "worthy of criminal charges or impeachment". From there, two-thirds of the Senate has to agree with the impeachment.

The contract on PredictIt titled "Will Donald Trump be impeached in 2017?" saw volume of more than 100,000 contracts in the last 24 hours after reports of a memo written by Comey that said Trump had asked him to end the Federal Bureau of Investigation's probe into ties between former White House national security adviser Michael Flynn and Russian Federation.

In U.S. history, dating back to 1776, the Senate has undergone only 19 formal impeachment proceedings, with a record of eight convictions, seven acquittals, three dismissals and a lone resignation.

And if, for some reason, Congress began the impeachment process today, the outcome would not be determined by Democrats alone.

While the new show won't be the exact same thing, it gives Harry Potter fans a good idea of what to expect come June. Previous reports of new a nighttime light show for the park have been confirmed.

The second-most-senior ranking Democrat in the Senate, Senator Richard Durbin, said of fellow Democrats, "they wanted the president gone on November the 10th of a year ago..." As Vox indicated in an article published on Tuesday, "It's quite hard to impeach, convict, and remove a president from office - so much so that's it's never happened in United States of America history. So far, we are not even remotely close to this politically charged process getting started for Trump, let alone actually happening". And if they've stood with him this long, that seems unlikely.

A Trump impeachment wouldn't necessarily be bad for stocks - in fact, it could actually help push Trump's economic agenda forward, Jim Cramer says.

During a news conference on Wednesday, for example, Democratic California Rep. Adam Schiff, who is also a member of the House Intelligence Committee, advised, "No one ought to, in my view, rush to embrace the most extraordinary remedy that involves the removal of the president from office".

The New York Times first, then The Washington Post and other outlets have reported that Trump had asked Comey in a February meeting not to pursue the Flynn probe and instead go after journalists in leak cases.

Thus, if Congress attempts to impeach Trump, it's going to take a joint effort by both Republicans and Democrats - something that's incredibly rare these days.
