Manchester City confirm that Zabaleta will be moving on

"So after one season it's hard to judge and I'm sure Pep will be determined to be closer next season - in all the tournaments".

"City had a big and ambitious project and this is why I made a decision to come".

Fast forward to May though and he's been an important part of Guardiola's plans for the most part and it seems as though with his contract winding down this summer, he could be in line for a new one-year deal, as per The Mirror.

"When I first came to Manchester I felt like when I was in Barcelona at Espanyol, we were not the main club in the city - we can't say the same thing now", Zabaleta said.

Meanwhile, Guardiola has called Pablo Zabaleta a "real legend" of the club after the Argentina full-back announced on Saturday that he will leave at the end of the season. I remember at that time Sir Alex Ferguson and the "noisy neighbours".

This season the Argentine hasn't been quite so heavily involved - he has made just 19 appearances in the Premier League - but he will be determined to conclude his City career in positive fashion, with Guardiola's side attempting to secure a top-four finish.

US admiral: North Korea's actions 'recipe for disaster
A special envoy representing Moon is due to visit China on Thursday for talks on THAAD and the overall bilateral relationship. North Korea said that the test was a legitimate defense against threats from a hostile US.

"That is why he deserves the best, last game here at home and hopefully all the fans come here tomorrow to the Etihad Stadium, first of all to support us more than ever, especially in the moments we are in trouble because against Tony Pulis teams there will always be moments of trouble and we play for a lot of important things". In my situation at a big club: I am sacked. Of the current City players, only Joe Hart and captain Vincent Kompany have been there longer.

"He's tough, he gets into challenges he has no right to win and comes out on the winning end, but more than anything it's his passion and commitment". He's an exceptional professional and someone who has been extremely reliable.

"If you need to go to war in big games you know you've got Zaba with you". To replace that you need someone who has been here for nine years. "And with him you have that feeling he could save the game".

The Spain worldwide told City's official website following a 2-1 victory over reigning champions Leicester: "The final weeks of the season have been tough, but we could win against Leicester and I'm very happy for these three important points.

I arrived at this club and I tried to do my best, some managers will have that pressure so I have to handle that, if not I go home", Guardiola said at a news conference.

"There are clubs who have already qualified for next season's Champions League, but for Yaya, Manchester City is a very special club".
