Putin 'Ready to Provide Records' of Lavrov-Trump Exchange

"I wouldn't put much credibility into whatever Putin's notes are", Rubio said on Fox News. Cory Gardner added, "The bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee has asked James Comey to appear in front of the committee, and they have asked acting FBI Director McCabe for any notes or memos prepared by Comey regarding communication with the Department of Justice and White House on the ongoing Russian Federation investigation".

Democratic Rep. Al Green of Texas called for the impeachment of President Donald Trump Wednesday morning, the first member of Congress to officially request leveling charges against the President from the House floor.

Complaining about what he said were signs of "political schizophrenia" in the US, Mr Putin said Mr Trump was not being allowed to do his job properly.

Mr Flynn resigned in February after it was revealed that he had misled Vice President Mike Pence and other top White House officials about his conversations with the Russian ambassador to the US, Sergey Kislyak.

The Senate Intelligence Commitee announced on Wednesday that they have asked Comey to testify. According to the New York Times, Trump told Comey, "I hope you can let this go". A statement issued Tuesday evening did not directly refer to The Times report, but denied that Trump had asked Comey or anyone else to end the Flynn probe.

Why did Trump want a private conversation with Comey?
And he directed a House oversight inquiry into Clinton's email practices and use of a private computer server. Not to be forgotten, the Senate Judiciary Committee went the furthest with its request for information.

Serving as an early-warning sign for potential damage to the party is Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-FL), who saw his South Florida congressional district vote for Hillary Clinton by 16 percentage points previous year - the most for any GOP lawmaker seeking reelection in 2018.

Many Democrats and Republicans in Congress, however, are not ready to jump on the impeachment bandwagon just yet.

But in the wake of reports that Trump asked the former director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation to drop a probe into ex-National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, Trump's agenda is becoming increasingly complicated by scandal.

Fyodor Lukyanov, who chairs the Council for Foreign and Defense Policies, an association of top political and security experts in Russian Federation, said Putin's comments suggest the Kremlin was increasingly losing hope for normalized ties with Washington. "This is not a truthful or accurate portrayal of the conversation between the president and Mr. Comey".

"If in fact what was in the memo is true, it's very concerning and we need to get to the bottom of that", Kinzinger said on CNN.
