Tristan Thompson expects Isaiah Thomas to play better in game 2

Game 2 is on Friday night before the series shifts to Cleveland for Games 3 and 4.

Giannis Antetokounmpo #34 of the Milwaukee Bucks carries the ball against the Boston Celtics during the first quarter at TD Garden on February 25, 2016 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Isaiah Thomas led the Celtics with 17 and 10 assists, but the feisty 5-foot-9 sparkplug couldn't get any traction on offense, hitting just 7 of 19 field goals.

"I know that we have to play a lot better at the start", Celtics coach Brad Stevens said.

Still, the Celtics wound up grabbing the top seed and home-court advantage through the East finals, and that gave them the right to host Games 1 and 2.

The innings was set up well for finisher MS Dhoni, and despite not looking in his best form smashed 40 off 26 balls. But it was an atypically slow surface at the Wankhede Stadium. "Hopefully we can be the better team on the final".

Although the Celtics responded with five straight points out of the break, the Cavaliers went back to work and put together a 12-0 run over the next three-plus minutes. "That's what good teams do, and we have to be ready for whatever they bring to the table". Cleveland had 22 points in the paint in the first, and James scored 15 in the first quarter alone. "They're not on 'Space Jam, '" Thomas told reporters, via ESPN.com's Chris Forsberg.

With less than two minutes remaining, LeBron James was being guarded by Celtics big man Kelly Olynyk.well not really.

Conversely, James has shown an ability to completely stifle Thomas on the defensive end.

So, with James maybe 100 percent, and more options waiting in the wings, the Celtics indeed face an uphill challenge.
