Warren Would 'Absolutely' Back Impeachment If Trump Really Obstructed Justice

A Trump impeachment wouldn't necessarily be bad for stocks - in fact, it could actually help push Trump's economic agenda forward, Jim Cramer says.

The Republican leader faces allegations he asked his FBI director James Comey to halt a probe of a senior former advisor, and dismissed Comey in a bid to curb an investigation into his campaign team's possible collusion with Russian Federation. Only eight people have been impeached in the House and convicted in the Senate - all federal judges. Rather, as the great expositor of impeachment - and the Constitution - Alexander Hamilton said, 'We move to impeachment because of the misconduct of public men, the violation of some public trust, and these relate to injuries done to society itself.' And we have certainly seen at least probable cause of that, if not proof of that, as yet.

Here is a look at the rarely used tool to oust a sitting USA president from power. Depending on Mueller's findings, criminal charges may be brought against Trump that the Congress might subsequently regard as impeachable.

The Constitution grants Congress broad discretion to impeach the president for "high crimes and misdemeanors". And typically, you would get an impeachment investigation, in the House Judiciary Committee, which by majority vote would decide whether or not to recommend articles of impeachment to the full House.

A state lawmaker from the Bay Area is calling for President Donald Trump to be removed from office.

The only possible route for Trump to be ousted from the presidency is for him to voluntarily resign.

What's the role of the courts? "A resolution for an impeachment investigation in the House is needed". Further, any Republican who votes in favor of impeachment is likely risking political suicide.

Chaffetz resigning from Congress as of June 30
According to Politico , multiple sources say Chaffetz, the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, will resign on June 30. Comey to quash an ongoing investigation, Chaffetz said he would invite Comey to testify in front of his committee next week.

"And despite the short price on offer, money has poured in for the president to be impeached, leaving us with little option but to cut the odds, " she added.

President Trump's promise to shake things up in Washington has brought us back to unpleasantly familiar territory: talk of impeachment and obstruction of justice, this time involving the investigation into the Trump campaign's dealings with Russian Federation.

"It can not be perceived as an effort to nullify the election by other means", said Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee.

In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Pritzker said Trump obstructed justice. In the real world, it could lead to evidence of wrongdoing that in turn could raise the potential for Trump to face impeachment.

"We absolutely need to get a hold of [former Federal Bureau of Investigation director] Comey's notes, any other written papers, any tapes that may have been made, and we need to get witnesses in here under oath", she told Jezebel. Carlos Curbelo of Florida, who is in a swing district, and Justin Amash of MI - talked openly about the possibility of bringing charges against Trump.

But on Tuesday night, CNN reported that even Republican lawmakers are now debating whether to support an independent prosecutor or independent commission after the latest round of revelations. "But everybody in this country gets a fair trial, including the president, or anyone else".

For that reason, members of Congress are impatiently waiting for Comey to accept their invitation to testify before them, and give his version of events for the first time.
