Washington Wizards: 5 takeaways from Game 3 against Boston Celtics

"He's talked to me today about how to stop him on defense", Brooks said. Not saying that's the reason why we lost.

Of course, it'd be hard to argue against these comments after watching Games 3 and 4. It was a no-show.

After failing to hang onto double-digit leads in the first two games of the second-round series in Boston, the Wizards avoided a letdown on their home court, pushing the lead to as many as 30 points in the second half. His first turnover of the night was a travel. "We don't like them and they don't like us". Twenty-two-to-zip. How does that happen in the National Basketball Association? In one moment, they downplay the rift as a natural one between two teams trying to climb the East food chain. You have to be able to execute our game plan. In game three, the Celtics never posed a threat. "I'll make the adjustments". Of that Celtics fans can be confident. He had 15 points with 10:54 to play in the second quarter, surpassing his 13-point total for Game 3 in a blink before stalling. "We know right now that one of us has to die, essentially". We'll find out if their confidence is enough to buck that trend Wednesday in a crucial Game 5. We need the reminder. They blew a 17-point lead in Game 1 before squandering a 13-point edge in Game 2.

Can't help but wonder what the Celtics are going to get out of mercurial ol' Marcus Smart the rest of this series. He is ready for a minor league game or two before finally making his first start for the big club this season, and if he can return to form it will greatly bolster the starting five. Washington have just nine turnovers and 26 assists. Johnson had seven points in 12 minutes. The Wizards led by as many as 26 and outscored the Celtics (237-191) in the two games in D.C.

John Wall had another double-double with 27 points and 12 assists. Unlike many of his teammates, he's overdue for a true quality performance. "But it does get a little frustrating when you continue to play the same way and there's nothing being called".

Judge confirms Prince's 6 siblings as heirs to his estate
Bremer stepped aside earlier this year and Prince's heirs have squabbled over the estate's advisers. Eide said if appellate courts send any rejected claimants back to him, he will consider them.

Celtics' all star Isaiah Thomas has been remarkable, but his supporting cast has been uneven through three games. "They set the tone". He could not carry it over to Game 3, struggling in a hostile situation, and that's probably no surprise given his relative inexperience. "I just want to come in and be physical with him". Rozier needs to maintain his composure.

After Washington got off another big start, the Celtics started coming back quickly. Yes, with the backcourt duo of John Wall and Bradley Beal the Wizards like to get out in transition, but they've also showed a willingness - maybe even an eagerness - to physically mix it up. For the first time in the series, they trailed after the first quarter. Was he McFilthy or McNasty? He was tossed from Game 3 for charging and knocking over Kelly Olynyk. Oubre has already been fined and suspended for Game 4.

But I'm not sure whether it was beneficial to the Wizards or not. But in game four of what's felt like more like a forty game series there were finally no batters hit by a pitch, no ejections, and we hope, no racial slurs hurled by bad people from the stands of Fenway Park.

More important from our perspective around here is whether it affects Olynyk.

This second-round National Basketball Association playoff series between the Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards has been ripe for overreaction. "When you keep getting hit in the head, you might respond that way and I think that's what he did". He's a nice Canadian fella.
