Xiaomi confirms Xiaomi Mi Max 2 presentation next week

Xiaomi's Mi Max 2 will launch on May 25 in Beijing, China, according to posters shared by the company on Weibo, which highlight the new phone's upcoming release. Unfortunately, it's only sold in Asian markets.

Xiaomi has revealed a poster that teases the announcement of the next generation large screen smartphone, the Mi Max 2. Some of the other features, we heard Mi Max 2 will be coming with are 3.5mm audio jack on the top, dual speaker grilles at the bottom edge of the handset, a USB Type-C port, and similar to the Mi Max, the Mi Max 2 could be coming with a fingerprint scanner at the back of the phone around the center. Besides it, it also mentions about the 5000mAh battery. The device will be powered by Snapdragon 626 processor and will most likely be available in just the 128GB internal variant.

Other leaks suggest that Mi Max 2 will sport an all-metal body. However, it seems that at the time of the presentation of Xiaomi Mi Max 2 we may discover the smartphone being displayed with an updated battery of 5,000 mAh, a difference of 150 mAh compared to last year's model.

All these features and specifications of the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 would be confirmed soon enough as in less than a week the smartphone will be officially among us. The smartphone is rumoured to cost around 1,499 Yuan (approximately Rs 14,013), while the premium variant will come equipped with Snapdragon 660 processor and said to be priced at 1,699 Yuan (approximately Rs 15,883). The Mi Max 2 also packs a bunch of sensors including accelerometer, barometer, compass, gyroscope, pedometer, proximity, and light sensor.

There are speculations over the camera, an important feature for all latest launches. There are also reports of a 16MP sensor instead of the 12MP one. It will be launched in China on 25 May. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
