You Can Now Earn Delta Miles During Lyft Rides

On the heels of teaming up with Google to build autonomous cars, on Wednesday Lyft announced a new partnership with Delta to help users earn free SkyMiles.

The rewards program earns extra miles for customers at all level of Lyft rides, including Line, Classic, Plus and Premier.

A Delta SkyMiles member can connect his or her SkyMiles and their Lyft accounts to "start earning miles on every ride", the companies said.

"We're thinking about our customers' whole travel experience and it's important that Delta customers are taken care of not just in the air, but on the ground", Delta's vice president Sandeep Dube said in a statement. Lyft has also partnered with the Starbucks Rewards loyalty program to offer free coffee and gift cards and with Budweiser to fight drunk driving. The ridesharing company just announced a partnership with Delta that will reward Lyft riders with the airline's SkyMiles rewards. "That's why we're excited we've found a good fit with Lyft". Before doing that, though, you need to be a SkyMiles member, something you can sign up for through this part of the Delta website. As well, you can only link one SkyMiles account per Lyft account.

For a limited time, SkyMiles members will get 3 miles for every $1 they spend with Lyft on a ride to or from an airport. "In working with the Delta team we discovered that our two companies share similar values, emphasizing customer focus and having employee-centric cultures".
