You'll Soon be Able to Send Someone Money With Google Assistant

Given the fact that the beta version of this has been made available, Google is still calling this as Android O Developers Preview 2.

Android Go is designed with features relevant for people who have limited data connectivity and speak multiple languages, and comes to life through three key areas: the Android OS, Google apps, and the Google Play Store. According to the reports, this Android Go will run on devices with 512MB or 1GB RAM and will have specialized apps that will use fewer resources like YouTubeGo. Also in the payments realm, Google and Weebly announced a partnership that will see all of Weebly's eCommerce sites integrate Android Pay soon as a new form of payment for shoppers, making the checkout process a quick and painless one.

Notification Dots are iOS-esque features, which put a dot next to the app icons, showcasing that there are unread notifications in the app.

Optimized apps will be promoted on the Google Play Store with the new section "Optimized for your device".

When will Android Go launch?

The deal enables GE's "Geneva" to communicate with the Google Assistant, so users can say: "Ok Google, ask Geneva Home to set the oven timer for 10 minutes".

As of now, the function will be limited to a small number of apps. Many of Google's products are also vying against similar offerings from other tech conglomerates like and Microsoft. "We're excited about seeing more users come online for the first time as the price of entry level smart phones drop, and we want to help manufacturers continue to offer lower-cost devices that provide a great experience for these users". Therefore, if you lose your phone, or upgrade to a newer one, all your old apps will immediately begin to download once you allow it. Yay!

Many of these advances have been brought to the Google Assistant, the cloud-based AI brain that powers voice-based interactions on devices like the Google Pixel.

Yesterday at I/O we took another step and introduced Google Play Protect, an always-on set of security services that are created to provide more peace of mind to IT managers, employees and all users.
