Zidane calm with Real Madrid one point away from title

Zidane calm with Real Madrid one point away from title

Celta's lone goal was scored by John Guidetti with a shot from outside the area in the 69th, just a minute before Karim Benzema restored Madrid's two-goal lead from close range after a left-flank.

The contest slipped into lethargy for a period before the referee ejected Aspas - Celta's top scorer - in the 62nd minute on a second yellow card.

Barcelona's superior head-to-head record against Los Blancos means if Madrid lose against Malaga, the title will instead be flown to the Nou Camp.

Yet they will secure a place in next season's Champions League group stage if 29-year-old Nagelsmann can steer them to a home win over Augsburg and Borussia Dortmund fail to beat Werder Bremen at home on Saturday (14:30 BST).

Madrid has been dominant from the start of the season, being in front for most of the league.

"We scored early and then had 20 hard minutes", added Zidane.

However, it looks that James' injury was only minor as the former Monaco star was back in training on Thursday to begin the preparation for the decisive trip to Malaga. At the Rosaleda, it has won four in a row, beating Barcelona, Valencia, Sevilla, and Celta. The tax authorities, however, are now working on an audit which claims that Ronaldo paid only 5.6 million Euros on his overseas income from image rights between 2009 and 2015 - a sum that approximates to only 4% of his overall earnings. Barcelona's own 2-0 win against Athletic Club saw Johan Cruyff's men pip their bitter rivals to the title, and complete a league and European Cup double.

Wales Avoids Disruption Following Friday's NHS Cyber Attack
The Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital has shaken off the effects of last Friday's attack by computer hackers. A total of 39 NHS services across England and Scotland were affected by the incident.

However if Madrid can avoid defeat against the Boquerones on Sunday - a draw or victory would hand them the title - they will have to pay Malaga €1 million.

Zidane has rotated his side to contend with the strain of a Champions League and LaLiga run in, and the Frenchman's ability to do so has impressed Isco.

Elsewhere Villarreal, Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad are battling to finish in the top six and reach the Europa League next season.

Villarreal will play at Valencia, and Real Sociedad visits Celta. Athletic are Atletico Madrid's guests for the team's final ever game at the Vicente Calderon before they move to their new home next season.

At the bottom, Sporting Gijon have joined Granada and Osasuna in being relegated despite winning 1-0 at Eibar. Madrid will play Juventus in the Champions League final on June 3. "More than very good", Mourinho added.

With Real Madrid in their current form that 100 per cent will probably not be good enough.

The game had little significance for either side, with United guaranteed to finish in sixth place and Southampton now in eighth place and unable to finish any higher.
