Jurgen Klopp: Liverpool belong with European elite

Steve Nicol evaluates what Liverpool need to do over the summer in order to manage their return to the Champions League.

Arsene Wenger is facing a defensive crisis at Arsenal ahead of Saturday's FA Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley Stadium.

If Sturridge is content to be that depth next season and to have the chance to demonstrate, over the course of the season, that he's able to stay fit and contribute at a consistently high level, the club would be foolish to offload him. "We have to see", the German told reporters. The first full season of the Jurgen Klopp era ends with a spot in the Champions League, which brings relief to the club coffers and, psychologically, more of a sense that they're moving in the right direction. What do we need?' - most of the work is already done. Now we have to make decisions.

"That is for the club to decide, for myself I am enjoying my football", said the striker about a potential move, per Ian Doyle of the Liverpool Echo.

"Alexis has been brilliant, scoring a lot of goals".

Champions League qualification has been achieved by Liverpool, but their season is not over just yet.

Earlier, an Army court had reportedly given clean chit to the officer and praised him for his presence of mind. The video of the incident had also gone viral over the social media.

Lallana, who recently committed his future to the Reds by signing a long-term deal worth £110,000-a-week last month, believes the presence of Klopp, the atmosphere at Anfield and the carrot of Champions League football should be enough for some of Europe's top stars to want to ply their trade on Merseyside.

Anfield, then, was understandably nervy about whether or not they could get the job done - but at least they were playing a visiting team that have been woeful this season.

Cech, meanwhile, says Arsenal's focus must now be on keeping the current team together this summer.

"We have to look at ourselves and we will be hungry for the same things next year". "I think the club has a strong foundation, strong organisation and everything to be out for one year and come back straight in, like Chelsea did last season".

Midfielder Marko Gruijic, who has been limited to just eight appearances this season because of injury, will also not travel as he is involved with Serbia in June's Under-21 Championship in Poland.
