Olympic evaluators praise Los Angeles, but will LA get the bid?

As Los Angeles and Paris are the only two cities with a chance to be named the host city in 2024, the evaluation committee is admittedly looking for "holes" or potential issues that either city could pose.

Members of the IOC Evaluation Commission, visiting Los Angeles before heading to fellow host city candidate Paris next week, spent the day inspecting proposed venues on the second day of a three-day mission. The committee was scheduled to tour Paris after its trip in L.A. The victor of the 2024 Olympic Games will be announced on September 13.

Sunday will be spent holding interviews between the commission and the bid team, led by co-presidents Tony Estanguet and Bernard Lapasset, before a dinner at one of the top Parisian landmarks, the Petit Palais. So many of them said, "I'm anxious about mum and dad, trying to get people into the event.' Those who come from wealthier nations might be able to afford some of those things, others less so".

Derek Carr 'confident' about landing new contract before training camp
Carr wants to be a Raider, the team wants him to be a Raider, and it's only a matter of time before this deal gets done. The Oakland Raiders are barely two months from training camp, and it's been a drama-filled offseason.

"We know that this will not be enough".

"Any city would have to look at the terms if the rules change, what a 2028 award means", said Garcetti.

Los Angeles' fiercely liberal Mayor Eric Garcetti said the Trump White House had been supportive of the bid and despite their many differences, it was one area where they agreed.

"There is still some work to be done, not everything can happen overnight but we think there are excellent bases here", said Baumann, whose commission will present their report to the public and International Olympic Committee members in July. According to the bid dossier, 84 percent of the athletes will be able to reach their competition venues in less than 25 minutes because the Olympic Stadium and aquatics center would be within 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) of the proposed village.

"In LA there is no major risk that we can highlight in any way right now", Baumann told reporters, adding that commission members had been "almost ecstatic" while visiting venues during the trip.

"That was very impressive - these two attractive campuses". We've seen excellent venues, including legacy venues from the 1932 and 1984 games. Meanwhile, it also presented the beauty and the spirit of the city.
