Amazon unveils 7-inch touchscreen Echo Show with Alexa support

With Amazon Echo Show anyone can make or receive calls through the device providing that they have the Alexa app installed, with a new feature called "Drop In" allowing designated friends and family make a call at any time. The interesting thing, however, is the new touchscreen feature. Rumors state that Apple will unveil a smart speaker, powered by its digital personal assistant Siri, at the upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference in June.

Echo Show has eight microphones and beam-forming technology so it can hear you from across the room-even while music is playing. The device will be available in white and black colour variants. The speaker comes with a price tag of $229.99 (around Rs 15,000). This essentially enables customers to work on a number of things like attending video and voice calls, that too with other Echo devices.

Something that may come in handy to new parents is the option of being able to connect the Echo Show to a smart home camera then use it as a voice-activated baby monitor. The Show will also be able to play content from YouTube and other applications on the internet.

Tottenham star outlines what Spurs have to improve upon next season
There has already been speculation about the futures of some Tottenham players, with Kyle Walker , for instance, having been linked with a move to Manchester City.

Amazon says that this Alexa calling and messaging is "coming soon" to Echo devices. The feature comes preloaded on the Echo Show. With the new Amazon Echo also sporting a camera, there is the possibility that it will also be able to assist users with their fashion choices. You can head over to Amazon's product listing to learn more about the device and reserve one for yourself.

Just last month, Amazon announced another entry in its line of Echo products, a hands-free style assistant called Echo Look.

The presence of a touchscreen will also look to fill the gaps in the functionality of the display-less Amazon Echo.
