EPL: Arsenal miss out on Champions League spot

While the prospect of Champions League football should improve the quality of player Liverpool can attract, they will face close regional competition for signings from Manchester City and potentially United, if Jose Mourinho's side qualify by beating Ajax in Wednesday's Europa League final.

Despite a seventh win in eight league games, it added up to a disappointing afternoon for Wenger, whose Arsenal future remains undecided pending a board meeting scheduled to take place after the cup final.

Boro's Premier League tilt was ended after just one season and their bid to return next term will likely occur under a new manager, with Agnew unsure of his future role.

"I think we are getting left behind a little bit by two or three clubs that are now ahead financially and they are spending money and things need to change at Arsenal". We missed you, captain!

"But the psychological environment for that group of players was absolutely horrendous and I'm very proud of what they have done, the way they responded and finished the season".

'There is still a lot of room for improvement and hopefully we can continue that in the Champions League next season.

Liverpool suffered from early nerves at Anfield before Wijnaldum's opener on the stroke of half-time eased the tension. That's the way it stayed, with Philippe Coutinho's free kick followed by Adam Lallana's strike in 56th minute to secure Liverpool's 3-0 victory over Middlesbrough.

Abedi was born in the northern English city to Libyan refugee parents, the Telegraph reported, citing USA officials. The suicide blast in Manchester took place at the end of a concert by pop star Ariana Grande, and killed 22 people.

"We had this pressure but we are Liverpool and have to deliver". They managed to get points and we had a few results which didn't go our way.

"To compete with Barca and Real we need time, we need decades to be there".

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp brought the curtain down on the 2016-17 season with his final press conference of the campaign.

'Champions League was a step along the way. Vincent Kompany headed home in the fifth minute and Sergio Aguero doubled the lead in the 23rd minute.Aguero scored his 33rd goal of the season in all competitions nine minutes before half-time, while Fernandinho and Gabriel Jesus also struck for City. Congratulations to Chelsea and to Tottenham, we are so glad to be third.

Whether Wenger is back in charge at the Emirates Stadium next season is yet to be resolved.

"I don't know. What is important is we do our job".

He added that he believed that Arsenal should keep "90 per cent" of their squad intact and that with minor quality additions the squad could challenge for the title.
