James Bond star Roger Moore dies at 89

Today we say goodbye to one of the legends of cinema; Sir Roger Moore who has passed away after a brief battle with cancer aged 89.

"With the heaviest of hearts, we must share the very bad news that our father, Sir Roger Moore, passed away today".

Paul McCartney took to Twitter on Tuesday to pay tribute to the late Roger Moore.

The family said he had fought a courageous battle with cancer. "The love with which he was surrounded in his final days was so great it can not be quantified in words alone", read the statement signed by Moore's children, Deborah, Geoffrey and Christian.

He started in 12 regular season games and three playoff games last season, including the Super Bowl win over the Atlanta Falcons. Bundchen was responding to a question regarding Brady's comments that she wanted him to retire.

In their statement, the family said Moore considered his work for UNICEF as his "greatest achievement".

The family said a funeral would be held in Monaco, "in accordance" with their father's wishes.

Moore is survive by his wife Kristina "Kiki" Tholstrup, a Danish-Swedish multi-millionaire; his daughter Deborah, an actress; his sons Geoffrey, an actor, and Christian, a film producer.

Moore enjoyed his break-out role in action-crime television series "The Saint" in 1953, before taking over the role of Bond, the hedonistic spy, from Sean Connery in the 1973 film "Live and Let Die"'. He is known for playing the famous spy James Bond in seven films including "Live and Let Die" and "A View to a Kill".
