LeBron James Just Did Something He's Never Done Before

Thomas was ruled out for the remainder of the postseason on Saturday after aggravating a hip injury in the first half of Friday's Game 2 loss in Boston. The first was the Heat's Game 4 loss to the Dallas Mavericks in the 2011 NBA Finals, in which he finished with eight points.

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio (AP) - LeBron James was nowhere to be seen, staying behind the scenes, keeping a low profile.

Game 3 was the flawless storm for Boston. What in the name of Red Auerbach happened? His coach, Tyronn Lue, insisted the All-Star was in good spirits however. "It was a weird feeling game".

On Sunday night, Thomas watched from afar as his team rallied from a 21-point deficit to stun Cleveland. He passed up shots and made mental and physical mistakes normally reserved for others.

Kyrie Irving had not yet heated up, and the lead hovered above double figures but seemed oh-so-close to creeping upwards of 20 points if the Celtics did a better job of making open shots in the first half. The Cavs had won their 10 in a row by an average of 12.4 points per contest; the Warriors' 11 wins have come by 16.5 points.

Boston closed the series gap to 2-1 and yet nobody believes it has a chance to pull off the upset, and rightfully so, especially now that James has the one game in which he played like a mere mortal this series out of the way.

What's that? A three-time champion, four-time MVP, two-time Olympic gold medalist, global icon, billion-dollar-business-in-sneakers, wasn't confident? But at least the Celtics gave NBA fans a reason to take notice, to get jazzed for more competitive basketball going forward just when we thought things were only going to get worse.

"It's the Eastern Conference finals", Smith said. It's not enough, for him, for what he does, for what he brings.

Kawhi Leonard: Dray nd KD think Kawhi will play
If San Antonio loses Saturday night against the Golden State Warriors , it will fall down 3-0 in the series. "It's getting better. They each secured a top-seeded position, and then advanced to these NBA Conference Finals-East and West. "It's frustrating.

"This is a hall of fame player who allowed me to play him off the bench for the last decade or something because it would make us a better team overall", Popovich said. It was an intense moment made unusual by the fact that a Cavs fan would heckle James for an off night when James is the one who delivered Cleveland a championship last June.

Thomas joined the team via FaceTime after the win, and Crowder said the message was that the Celtics are fighting for their leader.

"I didn't have it", James said.

Smart was happy to play his part, and even happier to share it with Thomas, even if only on a screen. I'm not going to criticize him one bit.

As Keith mentioned it took the rest of the roster firing on all cylinders and Marcus Smart having an nearly statistically impossible shooting night for the Celtics to scrape by with the win, plus that last shot from Avery Bradley was probably the friendliest bounce I've ever seen on a long ball.

Anderson dove on the court for a loose ball that the Spurs had tipped away defensively, pushing the ball upcourt to Mills who fed Ginobili for a 3-pointer that pulled San Antonio to 108-94 with 7 minutes remaining.

"They're going to compete", Lue said before the game. Next, some guy named Jonas Jerebko, who spends enough time on the bench to practice shots from there, got on the floor and went a flawless 4-for-4.
