Pep Guardiola reveals futures of Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany

City have already been linked with a string of new signings but boss Pep Guardiola says he has no plans to sell captain Vincent Kompany and striker Sergio Aguero.

"They improved a lot, Vincent playing eight or nine games in a row and we saw something special with him, so I can imagine when City won the league, one of the major reasons was Vincent".

The teenager fitted into the chaos seamlessly, though, as Fernandinho waltzed through a succession of misplaced tackles to make it four before half-time. "We need to be really focused in the key moments in the boxes, both for us and against us".

"We are going to reduce the gap to Chelsea and Tottenham".

In the other part of London, there was heartache for Arsenal as the Gunners for the very first time in a long while failed to qualify for the Champions League.

The wife and daughters of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola are reportedly safe and unharmed after Monday night's terrorist attack at the Manchester Arena.

But he spoke to Toure on the pitch afterwards and explained: "I said thank you for what he has done".

They said the lone male attacker set off a homemade bomb in the foyer at the end of the concert . This is the deadliest terror attack on British soil since the 2005 London bombings.

Guardiola's side could look somewhat different come August but he will hope to retain such attacking verve when they aim to banish the memory of trophyless season.

"When you play for Manchester United you have big responsibility, but these are the kind of games that we all love to play and hopefully we can play good and lift the trophy". For example, Guardiola likes his center backs to be comfortable on the ball, and be great passers, even though most center backs aren't the best passers or dribblers, so these players are considered a luxury and are therefore more expensive. "We must play better".

"The best team in Europe will be at the Etihad next season".

His farewell was a sorry affair - his injury-hit side, missing six defenders, never had a chance. We gave everything and with such a hard situation an inexperienced manager would have done worse. It's another objective in my career.

"I'm experienced enough to know you can not have 20,000 people on your side".

"It's clear to me that when my contract ends, after the World Cup [Russia 2018], I'm going to Independiente".
