Trump hails 'unbreakable bond' with Israel

"It will leave an impression on me forever".

Israel captured the Old City, home to important Jewish, Christian and Muslim religious sites, along with the rest of east Jerusalem in the 1967 war.

Husam Zumlot, a former adviser to Abbas who is now the Palestinian ambassador in Washington, said the contours of any deal between the Israelis and the Palestinians were well known to both sides.

Donald Trump, with his apparent lack of interest both in policy detail and in pretending the a neutral party, could be uniquely qualified to accomplish what has eluded his predecessors.

Trump will be meeting Monday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and will also visit the Western Wall and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. "The problem is with the occupation and settlements, as well as the non-recognition of the state of Palestine".

Such a coalition, the president said, "requires the world to recognize the vital role of the State of Israel".

He deserved to have that night of respect so that he really feels that we appreciate everything he's done for us over the years. Jae Crowder added 18 points while Al Horford had 16 points, six assists and three rebounds. "Not just in the second half".

Trump has repeatedly underscored US support for Israel during his first worldwide trip as president.

"We don't think that at this point that Trump had any initiative for the peace process or a program ready made for this visit, but rather, he would like to say for Palestinians and Israelis to build trust between themselves and try to hear from both sides anything that would help later on with developing his own initiative toward the middle east and the Palestinian question", said Nimer. "I believe that together we can roll back Iran's march of aggression and terror in this region, and we can thwart Iran's unbridled ambition to become a nuclear-weapons state".

"He did not want to wade into any thorny issues", Estrin said, noting the president did not reference controversial issues like Israeli settlements or his campaign promise to move USA embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. US disengagement, by any avenue, could create the space for real progress. -Israeli alliance: advancing prosperity, defeating terrorism and "facing the threat of an Iranian regime that is threatening the region".

He did not elaborate on the more delicate question: whether the administration would change USA policy over the status of Jerusalem.

Trump and Abbas met earlier this month at the White House.

Trump provided few specifics about how a deal might be achieved in a peace process that has been stalled for years. But I have a feeling that we're going to get there eventually. "I will do whatever is necessary to facilitate the agreement - to mediate, to arbitrate, anything".

President Donald Trump's trip to Israel was presented as a test of his ability to make the ultimate deal, but it's serving to underscoring just how hard it is to strike a peace accord between Israelis and Palestinians. And the world will likely continue watching and commenting, optimistically and pessimistically, about how he's representing the happened on Monday.
