'Trump, Listen!' Palestinian Protesters Rally as US President Sails Through

Speaking Tuesday at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, Trump said he is "personally committed to helping Israelis and Palestinians achieve a peace agreement".

At a news conference in Bethlehem's presidential palace, Abbas stressed the need for a two-state solution, noting: "I hope that history will mark Trump as the man who achieved peace".

"And my meeting with my very good friend, Benjamin, I can tell you also", Trump continued, "that he is reaching for peace, he wants peace".

During a press conference following the meeting with the United States president, the Palestinian leader urged Israel to comply with the "just and humane demands" of more than 1,000 Palestinian hunger strikers who have spent 37 days without eating in Israeli prisons.

On Monday, Mr Trump said he had come to "reaffirm the unbreakable bond" between the USA and Israel and that there was a "rare opportunity to bring security and stability and peace" to the region.

"I had a meeting this morning with [Palestinian] President Abbas".

Abbas, who met with Trump at the White House earlier this month, said he was willing to cooperate "in order to make peace and forge a historic peace deal".

Rubio called Trump's trip and call for a peace process a "noble endeavor" that every president has tried for years, and it has never worked because there are too many definitions behind what that peace would involve.

The Cavaliers carried an 87-82 lead into the fourth quarter after being outscored by the Celtics in the third quarter, 32-21. He said the absence of Thomas, who will miss the rest of the playoffs with a hip injury, may have helped inspire the team.

For instance, Trump went from the meeting with Abbas in Bethlehem directly to a wreath-laying ceremony at Yad Vashem (The World Holocaust Remembrance Center) with Netanyahu.

For instance, the Israeli leader on Monday complemented Trump for his tough stance on Iran during his Middle East swing, saying it would "help reconciliation between israel and the Palestinians".

Trump met the leader in Bethlehem, where Palestinian activists had set up an effigy representing Palestinian prisoners in front of the Nativity Church, calling attention to the mass, historic hunger strike now being waged by more than 1,500 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.

Trump initially sparked deep concern among Palestinians when he backed away from the long USA commitment to a two-state solution to the conflict.

"I won't call them monsters, because they would like that term", said Trump, adding that so many "young, beautiful" people lost their lives in the explosion at Manchester Arena in Britain late on Monday. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, asked about Haley's comments, reiterated traditional USA policy, saying, "The wall is part of Jerusalem".

The only credible ideas still require the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state alongside Israel. Wearing a black skullcap, he became the first sitting president to visit the Western Wall in Jerusalem's Old City, the most holy site at which Jews can pray.

"Conflict can not continue forever".

In Bethlehem, some Palestinians joked that the visit's main achievement was that the municipality had cleaned the streets beforehand, said Akram Al Ayassa, an official with a Palestinian government commission. That's Palestinian law. That law must be changed.
