Trump also expressed optimism that he can help facilitate peace between Israel and Palestinians. Standing alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he argued he never mentioned Israel, the source of the classified intelligence, according to various officials - something he has not been accused of doing.

The US President also blasted Tehran's support for "terrorists", during a visit to Jerusalem.

Halfway between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, the 9-ton presidential limousine, commonly referred to as "The Beast", broke down.

British Prime Minister Theresa May said the incident was being treated as a terrorist attack, making it the deadliest militant assault in Britain since four British Muslims killed 52 people in suicide bombings on London's transport system in July 2005.

"He has been clear about these issues, and will remain clear on those issues during the visit", the unnamed official said.

Trump and Netanyahu in particular lavished praise on each other during their multiple meetings.

"Iran calls for the destruction of Israel. The alternative explanation is that he is not, as he famously said, 'like, a smart person.' That realization should petrify both Americans and our allies and entice our enemies, who are probably convinced they can fool the hapless president again and again". "Once again we reassert to you our positions", Abbas said elaborating, "accepting the two-state solution along the borders of 1967, a state of Palestine with a capital in East Jerusalem alongside Israel... and resolving longstanding issues based on worldwide law and agreements... in accordance with Arab peace initiative".
