Chelsea Cancels Premier League Victory Parade In Wake Of Manchester Attack

Players will wear black armbands for Saturday's Wembley fixture, prior to which there will be a period of silence, the Football Association said.

There is no suggestion that the gesture was executed for any other reason than to honour the final Premier League game of the defender who made over 700 appearances for Chelsea. I have to say thanks for their commitment, their attitude and passion, and their will to do something great this season. It was his 580th game as captain of the team.

Chelsea had already been confirmed as champions long before facing Sunderland but the way they came from behind to win in style after Javier Manquillo had put Sunderland ahead in the third minute summed up their season.

"I'm not talking about tactical game, I'm talking about motivation, right fire in ourselves, in our soul, in our heart".

"I am sure that Arsenal will keep Wenger on, and I am also sure that this is going to be a tough, tough game for Chelsea. Otherwise we risk a lot". Sunderland scored first but Willian, Eden Hazard, Pedro and Batshuayi found the back of the net for Chelsea.

Former captain Dennis Wise carried the gold-topped Premier League trophy to a rapidly-constructed dais and as Terry and Cahill lifted the trophy, blue-and-white bunting rained down on the players while cannons blew celebratory flames into the air.
