Departure of Younis and Misbah hands Pakistan a testing transition

The tourists are chasing their first Test-series win in the Caribbean in a landmark match for the tourists with both Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan retiring from global cricket afterward.

Meanwhile, the former Pakistan Test Captain and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan also congratulated to Pakistan team over their historic test series win in the West Indies.

In the end he completed his third Test century but was left helpless at the non-strikers end when Gabriel, who had defended resolutely for 21 balls, inexplicably attempted a wild drive off Shah and dragged the ball back onto his stumps. His greatest moments were drawing a Test series in England and being the first Pakistani captain to win a series on West Indian soil.

Fast bowler Alzarri Joseph claimed three wickets but the West Indies' failure to press home the advantage after getting Younis and Misbah cheaply proved costly.

Afghanistan Cricket Board chairman Atif Mashal, while speaking to Dawn, said, "Younis has agreed to coach the Afghan cricket team and the board is now finalising the contract". West Indies had spent the whole day playing the resistance game led by the magnificent Roston Chase, who was left stranded on 101 as he saw Shannon Gabriel getting bowled by Yasir Shah to hand Pakistan the series. Two-three years ago, I was about to retire but I got the motivation to try and get to 10,000 runs.

Younis, in his final Test innings before retirement, was dismissed on the stroke of tea for a top score of 35 while his captain Misbah perished for two.

The visitors quickly bowled out the West Indies in the morning for 247 and a first-innings lead of 129.

Younis Khan ended his worldwide career as the first Pakistan batsman to score 10,000 Test runs.

"I would like to thank Almighty Allah, whatever I had, whatever success I got throughout my career, to end like that, I couldn't ask for anything better", ESPNcrincinfo quoted Misbah as saying in his farewell address.

Commending the services of retiring Captain Misbah-ul-Haq and Younas Khan, the President said that through their illustrious careers they have written a golden chapter in the history of Pakistani Cricket.

"Younis has been one of Pakistan's finest batsmen, also often coming up with his best efforts when the chips were down".
