Manchester attack victims still in critical condition with 'horrific injuries'

Interior minister Amber Rudd said the 22-year-old had been on the radar of the intelligence community before the attack late Monday at a concert by U.S. pop star Ariana Grande.

France's interior minister said Abedi is believed to have travelled to Syria and had "proven" links with the Islamic State group. Grande, a 23-year-old former child television star, described herself as "broken" by the attack.

The UK police have identified a man they suspect of having perpetrated the attack, 22-year-old Salman Abedi.

Abedi is believed to have travelled to Manchester by train from London, according to United States intelligence officers.

US security sources, citing British intelligence officials, said Abedi was born in Manchester to parents of Libyan origin.

Twenty people are still in critical care, officials said Wednesday.

She said the "reality" of the situation is that police must be ready to respond quickly with armed officers.

There was no immediate claim of responsbility, but Chief Constable Ian Hopkins said police are treating the blast as an act of terrorism "until we know otherwise".

Manchester, 260 kilometres northwest of London, is one of Britain's largest cities and Manchester Arena is one of the world's largest indoor concert venues.

If the explosion is confirmed as a terrorist attack it would be the deadliest in Britain since four suicide bombers killed 52 London commuters on three subway trains and a bus in July 2005.

She is yet to confirm whether her two shows at the O2 Arena in London on Thursday and Friday will go ahead.

He also had seven assists, five rebounds and two steals. "I feel some adversity is part of the postseason. Overpowering an off-colour Cavaliers , Marcus Smart top-scored for the Celtics with 27 points.

The rest of her European tour was cancelled, and she has since returned to Florida, where she was greeted by her boyfriend, Mac Miller.

A Grande concert is scheduled for Aug 17 at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani, with tickets priced at up to 12,000 baht selling briskly.

Hayley Lunt was staying at a hotel nearby and had taken her 10-year-old daughter Abigail to her first concert at Manchester Arena on Monday evening.

Pop concerts have been a terrorism target before.

"It's less like the Bataclan than it is the Boston Marathon bombing, which also took place on a public street, surrounded by law enforcement", Mr Adelman told The New York Times, referring to the Paris attacks of November 2015, when gunmen entered the Bataclan theater during a performance and killed 90 people.

Manchester itself has seen attacks before, but not this deadly.

Britain's third biggest city was hit in 1996 by a massive vehicle bomb planted at a shopping centre by Irish Republican Army paramilitaries which wounded more than 200 people.

Trump said during a visit to Bethlehem: "So many young, beautiful, innocent people living and enjoying their lives murdered by evil losers".

Traumatised witnesses have told how nuts and bolts tore into the young music fans when the bomb was detonated in the foyer of the Manchester Arena moments after USA popstar Grande left the stage. Twitter and Facebook lit up with heartbreaking appeals for the missing.

A further 59 people, including children, were injured and taken to hospital.

"As a school community we are absolutely devastated and heartbroken at the news that Olivia has passed away", he said in a statement.
