Sharif family miffed over JIT investigation procedures

The Joint Investigation Team formed to investigate the Panama Leaks scandal has made a decision to summon Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and a notice in this regard has been prepared.

According to sources, the bench headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, will conduct a hearing on reservations raised by Hussain Nawaz.

Talal Chaudhry, leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has also conveyed the party's reservations on the JIT, reported the Dawn.

Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan, a member of the bench, warned Zia that the tasks assigned to the JIT should be completed within the 60-day time-frame provided to the team.

Imran said it was embarrassing for the whole nation to see that neither Prime Minister Nawaz was allowed to speak in the Riyadh Conference nor Trump named Pakistan for its sacrifices in the war against terror.

Other members of the Senate intelligence committee echoed the sentiment that Flynn was testing his limits by ignoring their requests.

The top court has directed the registrar office to fix the matter for hearing on May 29 (Monday) before the three-judge implementation bench. He stated that a JIT member threatened his client with serious consequences if didn't withdraw the affidavit submitted by him in the Supreme Court.

Khan further said that no one would respect a prime minister who is under a criminal investigation by JIT. "Notice to be issued to the applicant (Hussain) for said date", said the order, passed by the bench in the chamber. However, no mention of Shafi's complaint was made during the hearing.

Mr Shafi is a key witness in the probe.

The bench instead asked the JIT members that they must inform the court if any department was not cooperating or dragging its feet, adding that "we know how to implement our order".

He said that we don't have money to run Pakistan.
