Spurs star Leonard questionable for Game 3

Popovich said: "We need to get slapped and come back and play Game Three and see who we are".

Davis Bertans finished with 13 points for the Spurs in the defeat.

Leonard reinjured his left ankle in Sunday's 113-111 Game 1 loss after coming down on the foot of defender Zaza Pachulia. Can the Spurs win 1 is the question. The Warriors were up by as many as 41.

Leonard originally sprained his left ankle in Game 5 of the Spurs' 110-107 overtime victory against Houston in Game 5 of the conference semifinals.

If that's the case, it might not be until Finals that there is an opponent with the confidence to stand up to the Warriors.

San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich says his team felt sorry for themselves and lacked the belief they could beat the Golden State Warriors after losing star forward Kawhi Leonard to an ankle injury.

But other than that, nothing else went wrong for the Warriors.

The Warriors were quickly into their familiar scoring groove, sprinting into a 33-16 lead by the end of the first quarter and never letting up. "The only way I can process this is I think it's not about O's and X's or rebounds or turnovers or anything like that".

"You have to believe".

The Post reported that the two officials refused to comply with the president's request. The president has denied making the request.

"I'd probably list him as questionable", Popovich said. That's the way I process it.

The remainder of the game was played on even terms, Curry, Durant, and Green all resting for the final quarter. In addition to the lawsuit, they've also asked for a restraining order against the Warriors and Pachuila to keep them out of San Antonio, Texas. They shut down LaMarcus Aldridge (only eight points on 4-of-11 shooting overall) and held the Spurs to 6-of-26 shooting and four turnovers in the first quarter.

"Somebody's got to teach him if the California Highway Patrol tells you to move, you move over, " Popovich said. "He can't be timid". He turned down shots. He can't do it.

"You hope that [Leonard] is ready and that he can help us", Ginobili said.

"This is the game of basketball, a lot of insane stuff happens on the court, unfortunately", he said.

The Lakers dropped only one game the entire postseason on their way to winning a second straight championship.

"It's fun to watch", Durant said. I just love this game and I'm playing hard. You go back and watch the film, they're both identical: "two guys shooting the ball, two big guys going out to contest, they slide under the shooter a little bit - neither one I think on goal - and one happens to land on one's foot and the other one doesn't".

But Curry wasn't alone. After he went 1 for 8 and missed all six of his 3s in the first game, he finally hit from long range midway through the second.
