Greater Manchester Police on Friday said 10 people have been arrested in connection to the Manchester Arena bombing investigation - two of whom, a man and a woman, have been released without charge. Abedi was apprehended by police in Tripoli.

Britain's best-selling newspaper The Sun carried pictures Wednesday of eight-year-old Saffie Rose Roussos, who was killed in the attack, and of Abedi under the words "PURE" and "EVIL" respectively.

Abedi was known to British authorities prior to Monday night's attack, CBS News reported.

A 12-volt battery was also found at the site, which could be the bomb's power source, the report says.

The pope said anyone who thinks of building walls instead of bridges "is not Christian", a comment that Trump called "disgraceful".

Mr Abedi earlier claimed his son is innocent, telling The Associated Press by telephone from Tripoli: "We don't believe in killing innocents. "This is not us". "A couple of months ago [Salman] was chanting the first kalma [Islamic prayer] really loudly in the street".

Drake was one of several Canadian stars with teenage followings who voiced sympathy and solidarity Tuesday for those affected by the bombing.

Manchester police said that they would no longer share details of the investigation with their USA counterparts, and the city's top police official, Chief Constable Ian Hopkins, noted that the disclosure "has caused much distress for families that are already suffering terribly with their loss", the BBC reports. "The way you have handled all of this has been more inspiring and made me proud than you" ll ever know", she said.

Britain raised its terrorism alert level to "critical" - the highest step - after the blast, signaling that another attack could be imminent, and Prime MinisterTheresa May cut short her trip to the Group of Seven meeting in Sicily later this week.

Fully armed and combat-ready United Kingdom soldiers were deployed on streets in London, Manchester and other cities in a show-of-force security operation.
