My name will be remembered with Younis Khan: Misbah-ul-Haq

On the fifth day of the series decider, Chase played a gritty hand, identical to his effort against India in Kingston last July-August, only for the hosts to pull off a win off the last ball of the penultimate over of the game.

West Indies batsman Roston Chase revealed how his century against Pakistan in the recently-concluded Dominica Test was the "hardest one" for him.

Fast bowler Alzarri Joseph claimed three wickets but the West Indies' failure to press home the advantage after getting Younis and Misbah cheaply proved costly.

Chase then joined Shai Hope with the pair defying all the challenges presented to them by the Pakistani attack until Hasan Ali got the breakthrough and his first Test wicket 20 minutes before lunch, trapping Hope leg-before with a full-length inswinger.

West Indies seemed set to dismiss Pakistan for a small total after reducing Pakistan to 90 for seven, but the tail wagged, and more importantly scored quickly, especially number 10 Hasan Ali, who slogged an unbeaten 15 off six balls, while Yasir scored an unbeaten 38.

Tributes flowed in to the 42-year-old Pakistan great, as well as his 39-year-old teammate Younis Khan, who also hung up his gloves with the conclusion of the series. "Or with my district side, if I can do something", he said.

Yasir Shah was the wrecker-in-chief as he took eight wickets in the match and five in the second innings in a gripping final day at Windsor Park, Dominica and Pak scripted a 101-run win over their Carribean counterparts.

A part of the opposition has rejected the call, which would lead to a new constitution, saying it's a way to avoid elections. The National Electoral Council later said that elections for the constituent assembly would be held at the end of July.

Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq, who bid adieu to global cricket on Sunday after his side's thrilling win over West Indies, said he could not have ask for anything better than to end his illustrious career on such a note.

On the flipside, Pakistan were on the verge of missing the opportunity to finally clinch a long-chased series win in the Caribbean.

Younis' career batting average of 52.05 is also the best by any Pakistan i batsman and the third best by any batsman from Asia.

"[Like when Imran Khan and Wasim Akram left the scene], after Misbah and Younis new [talented] players will emerge and they will perform for the national team", the Dawn quoted Inzamam as saying. It was a fine journey with him in the middle, sharing a lot of partnerships.

"I just told the tailenders to trust their defence", Chase said while receiving the man of the match award. "In the history books, my name will come with him and he's a legend", said Misbah. What a finish, I couldn't have asked more than that.

If Misbah represented the voice of reason in both the dressing room and out on the field, Younis let his bat do the talking and is now the only Pakistani to have joined the coveted 10,000 test-run club.
