Liverpool: Wagner wants Reds star in new loan

Wagner, a close friend with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, will - according to the Daily Mail - ask his compatriot if it is possible to retain the Welsh worldwide on a long-term deal especially as they could soon be a Premier League club.

Huddersfield Town will reportedly offer manager David Wagner a lucrative new contract if he gets them promoted to the Premier League.

Ward has enjoyed an impressive campaign at the Yorkshire side under the management of Jurgen Klopp's former Dortmund colleague and best man, David Wagner.

Klopp is one of the most highly-regarded coaches in world football, but has yet to win a competitive fixture at Wembley, losing to Manchester City in last season's League...

Asked if Klopp had given him advice, Wagner smiled: "No, because he wasn't successful!"

Wagner said he believed neutral fans would be supporting Huddersfield - nicknamed The Terriers - who were tipped to struggle at the start of the season but defied those predictions to finish fifth.

"We are a small dog, we are still a small dog, and this hasn't changed over the season - but we are ambitious".

"I have a feeling that almost everyone - not just in this town but also in Europe - hopes this fairytale comes to a happy end".
