But she says her day got even better when Lorde sent her a DM later saying she wanted to offer her a complimentary pass for her performance at the Governors Ball, which takes place at the city's Randall's Island Park.

Ms Medina, who captured the encounter in a video, said meeting the Green Light singer "made her morning". "She got blue velvet I am shook".

Speaking to the camera, she said: "This is my first famous person, we got Lorde in the house today".

But later, she posted a screenshot of her Twitter direct message conversation with the pop star, in which Lorde admits she was too shy to properly talk to her.

The two clearly clicked, with Ms Medina saying Lorde was "so chill it felt like it was a friend from school".

You can see her ask something along that ends with "come to the Governors Ball on me", to which Emely replies, "No way - this is a joke right".

Lorde is performing second at the Governors Ball bill on Friday just before headliner Chance The Rapper. "I'm crying rn! This is insane".

Meanwhile, Lorde has also teased the release of a new song from her forthcoming album Melodrama.
