Hizbul militant, five LeT men arrested in Kashmir, module busted

In February this year, Jammu and Kashmir police busted a module of Hizbul Mujahideen terror outfit and arrested a militant along with nine others who were "influencing" young and innocent boys in Baramulla district.

Claiming to have busted a module of the LeT, police said that the five operatives of the outfit were apprehended during checking of vehicles at Khusarpora Hajin axis in Bandipora in north Kashmir.

The police received an input that a Wagon R vehicle is is roaming in between Chandergeer, Hajin, Shahgund and Gundjahangeer areas, carrying militants and Over Ground Workers with illegal arms and ammunition.

According to police, a check post was laid by a joint team of police and army on Khusarpora Hajin axis after inputs about the movement of a private vehicle transporting arms and ammunition.

At a check naka post, one white Color Wagon-R vehicle bearing registration No. JK15-6569 was intercepted and five boarding persons including driver were questioned, the source further informed. Police added that ten hand grenades, two AK rifle magazines and 27 AK rounds were recovered from their vehicle.

He said that the preliminary investigations revealed that they were working for a Lashkar militant in Hajin.

Zulfikar said a case (FIR number 34/2017) under section 7/25 arms act, was registered against the accused in Hajin Police station.
