Wenger's Arsenal stay confirmed

Henry said he was pleased to see Wenger stay at the club but added that it remained to be seen whether the decision would pay off.

"But when you look around and make that assessment, you don't find any better candidates than Arsene Wenger".

He urged Kroenke and the club's board, of which he is not a member, to give Wenger full backing to allow the Frenchman to secure a positive legacy at the club after nearly 21 years in charge.

Wenger has won three Premier League titles and a record seven FA Cups with the Gunners.
