Paris climate pact can't be renegotiated: UNFCCC

Earlier on Thursday, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk quit two of the president's business advisory councils after Trump announced his decision.

Martin Schulz, head of Germany's Social Democratic Party, was more critical.

Late on Thursday, BlackRock Inc Chief Executive Larry Fink said he would continue to serve on Trump's CEO Forum, despite reservations about the White House decision to withdraw from the Paris accord.

"The Prime Minister expressed her disappointment with the decision and stressed that the United Kingdom remained committed to the Paris Agreement, as she set out recently at the G7". The country had cut its carbon emissions 12 percent below 2005 levels by 2015; under the Paris agreement, it vowed to reduce emissions 26 to 28 percent by 2025.

The Paris Agreement was the open door for future US administrations to regulate and spend hundreds of millions of dollars on global climate programs, just as the Obama administration did without any input from Congress.

He couldn't resist a dig at Prime Minister Theresa May in the process. "The last thing we need is another meaningless worldwide agreement where the USA makes all the sacrifices and carrying the cost of other nations, with little actual impact on the climate", he added.

"Clean growth a key pillar of our modern industrial strategy".

"This is an unprecedented forfeiture of American leadership", he declared in a statement from his office at the Carnegie Endowment. "Should it quit, the United States will become a part of this questionable minority", said the hawkish Party-run Global Times.

France and the United States "would continue to work together", but not on climate change, it said. United Nations chief Antonio Guterres described the move as "a major disappointment for global efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote worldwide security". He continued to say he would attempt to negotiate a new deal.

"We are firmly convinced that the agreement can not be renegotiated", they added, referring to Mr Trump's announcement that Washington was open to negotiating a new agreement.

The president's decision, which was criticized around the world, was also denounced by companies in the United States.

Dillon Persinger went 4 for 5 with three runs scored and Hank LoForte went 3 for 5 with three RBI. Of course, Seabold wasn't too shabby himself for Cal State Fullerton in the earlier game.

"It's a dereliction of both her duty to this country and our duty to our planet".

Certainly, withdrawing from the Paris Agreement will be met with consternation from foreign leaders, as was the case when the USA withdrew from the Kyoto Protocol.

How does Trump's decision affect India - and everyone else?

Climate change is not in Maine's future - it's happening right now.

"Prime Minister: if your special relationship with Donald Trump means anything, prove it". These are the principles that actually will help people in developing countries prepare for and cope with a changing climate and natural disasters, whether or not they are caused by man-made greenhouse gas emissions.

James E. Rooney, president of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, called the withdrawal an "unfortunate decision".

Obama said the USA "should be at the front of the pack" when it came to lowering emissions and developing green technology.

USA diplomatic and economic muscle was vital in getting emerging powers and growing polluters like India on board - and on striking a deal with China.

"We are stronger. We will win".

Secretary of State John Kerry was on hand on December 12, 2015 to shepherd the hotly debated text through to agreement in Paris at an emotional ceremony. Trump gets elected. Trump withdraws.
