Sean Spicer Says 'Small Group' Know What Trump's Covfefe Tweet Meant

Press Secretary Sean Spicer's odd two days of press briefings since returning from President Donald Trump's foreign odyssey this week are the result of a White House increasingly frustrated with the press corps, according to a report by CNN's Dylan Byers. His comments came on the heels of the resignation of White House Communications Director Mike Dubke-who did not have a relationship with Trump prior to taking the post.

They ask why Kushner would suggest secret conversations with the ambassador and meet the head of a Russian bank under US sanctions, failing - like a number of Trump associates - to mention it on his security-clearance form, all amid allegations Russia meddled in the USA election.

Dubke said in a statement it had been an honor to serve Trump and "my distinct pleasure to work side by side, day by day with the staff of the communications and press departments".

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway told the Associated Press on Tuesday that Dubke resigned before Trump left for his worldwide trip earlier this month, suggesting that his departure is not linked to any pending shake-ups. But a day later, during a briefing that lasted just under 12 minutes, Spicer signaled that the White House has made a decision to let President Donald Trump's private lawyers field those inquiries. Sean Spicer, the spokesman for the White House, and a much more high profile figure, is responsible for managing the daily media briefings.

While overseas, Trump's longtime lawyer, Marc Kasowitz, joined a still-forming legal team to help the president shoulder the intensifying investigations into Russian interference in the election and Trump associates' potential involvement.

The Secret Service says it has charged a person who attempted to jump over a bike rack barricade near the White House.

For example, Trump has entertained bringing back his former campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, and former deputy campaign manager, David Bossie, more formally.

It is hard to understand exactly what motivated Jared Kushner to propose secret back-channel communications with Russian Federation last December.

Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of President Donald Trump and one of his top advisers, early this year stepped down as chief executive officer of his family's real estate company.

"The idea behind the secret communications channel, the three people said, was for Russian military officials to brief Flynn about the Syrian war and to discuss ways to cooperate there".

President Donald Trump is determined to fight allegations that his campaign and administration had improper - possibly illegal - connections with the Russian government.

"That is not a back channel", he argued. "Enjoy!" the USA president tweets.

The CNN report notes that Spicer "is also frustrated by the media's treatment of him", notably reports that he "chafes at reports suggesting Trump is planning to shake up the communications team because he isn't satisfied with Spicer's performance".
