Real Madrid historic defend of Champions league by beating Juventus 4-1

Two-goal Ronaldo thanked Zidane for a halftime team talk that fired the Spanish club to a 4-1 victory over Juventus in the Champions League final on Saturday.

Following their 2014 and 2016 successes, Madrid have now won three of the last four finals, and the Portuguese told beIN Sports that Zinedine Zidane's charges were already thinking about adding another in Kiev in 12 months time.

By so resoundingly defeating the Italian champions, Real have not just become the first side to retain the European Cup in 27 years, but also won their third in four years - a period of dominance not seen since Liverpool won three in five years from 1976-77 to 1980-81.

"It's incredible, it's the reason I came to Real Madrid: to win trophies".

"It's a tremendous joy for the players and for this huge club", Zidane told beIN Sports Spain. "I think we feel incredible team, and we need to just keep doing what we are doing, because I think we can win much more titles in the future".

REAL MADRID comfortably beat Juventus in the Champions League final tonight - here are some of the best photos of them celebrating. The first Champions League final to be played beneath a closed roof saw Juve hit their heads against a familiar ceiling as they missed out on a chance to complete the first Treble in their history.

Substitute Juan Cuadrado's late dismissal, picking up a second yellow card for a late foul on Ramos (who arguably embellished the contact) was the final ounce of fight from a beaten Juve side.

"It's a big disappointment because we thought we did everything we needed to win", Buffon said.

The evangelical environmental groups insisted that USA withdrawal from the pact runs counter to messages in the Bible. China and the European Union are two of the three biggest economies in the world with a large carbon footprint.

"I scored two goals, am the top scorer in the Champions League again", Ronaldo said.

"Nights like this is why you're a footballer and why I joined Real Madrid" Bale told WalesOnline. Following an elaborate pre-match ceremony involving American pop act Black Eyed Peas at the Principality Stadium, Juve settled first. They nearly went ahead on six minutes as Miralem Pjanic's 20-yard effort brought an excellent flying save from Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas. His first effort was his club's 500th in the competition.

"To win at home is a dream come true", said Bale after lifting the famous trophy for a third time.

Leonardo Bonucci's deep ball was brought down by Alex Sandro, who cut it back to Higuain in the penalty area.

But after the break, it was Zidane's men who set the tempo and in the 61st minute Casemiro put them ahead.

Speaking about the jeers Real fans levelled on him during down times in the season, Ronaldo said: "It is not the moment to speak about [whistles]".

For his second, Ronaldo read and anticipated Luka Modric's burst to the byline, timed his run perfectly and met the Croatian's low cross with a deft touch that lifted the ball over the helpless Buffon.
