Dortmund appoint Peter Bosz as new coach

The club wrote on Twitter: "Peter Bosz is new Borussia Dortmund coach".

Peter Bosz is the new BVB Head Coach.

In January past year the former Dutch global Bosz left Vitesse Arnhem to move to Maccabi, with which he finished second in the Israeli league.

This season, Bosz only finished second with Ajax in the Eredivisie but he led the club to the Europa League final, where they lost out to Manchester United.

Dortmund were said to have made Nice coach Lucien Favre their top target for the position but the French club issued a statement ruling out his departure and Bosz, who joined Ajax last summer after a short spell with Maccabi Tel Aviv, was then installed as the favourite.

Media reports suggest Dortmund will have to pay around 5 million euros ($5.6 million) in compensation to Ajax for his signature.

CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke also declared that club chiefs had been "worn out" by the German coach.

Dortmund finished third in the Bundesliga last term to qualify for the Champions League, and also won the DFB-Pokal, but Bosz will have his work cut out to challenge the dominance of Bayern Munich.
