Trump challenges London mayor to an IQ test

Trump on Sunday criticized Khan's comments and his assurance about an increased police presence in the city following the third deadly attack in the past three months there, and argued on Twitter that leaders should "stop being politically correct" and focus on "security for our people".

The mayor's office said the mayor has more important things than to respond to Donald Trump's ill-informed tweet that deliberately takes out of context his remarks urging londoners not be to alarmed when they see more police including armed officers on the streets.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan described the terror attack as "cowardly and evil" after visiting the scene with Met Police Commissioner Cressida Dick.

"London won't be cowed by terrorism and nor will we allow these terrorists to fuel division and divide our communities", he added.

British Prime Minister Theresa May was among those who came to Khan's defence, though she declined to criticise Trump over the row.

France annotated/fact-checked the White House's promotional video on Trump's decision to leave the climate accord. Following the June 2016 Orlando nightclub massacre in which 49 clubgoers died, Trump himself said that more guns might have mitigated the attack.

On Monday, Clinton called for strengthened ties with global allies - a clear contrast with Trump, who has in recent days alarmed North Atlantic Treaty Organisation allies and withdrawn the United States from a Paris climate accord.

Addressing Trump's proposed plan to bar millions of people from Muslim majority countries from entering the United States, which the president said had been vindicated by the attacks, Khan told the AP he found the idea antithetical to American values.

He said: "Our city has suffered two very bad terrorist attacks since I was elected as mayor - and we must do everything possible to stop there being any more".

"Sadiq Khan has shown dignity and leadership". The attacks occurred on Saturday night around 10 p.m. local time on London Bridge and at Borough Market, popular tourist and pedestrian spots near the River Thames.

Asked if Trump was criticizing the mayor of London because he is Muslim, Sanders said that was "utterly ridiculous".

Trump's comments contradict public support of Khan from the US Embassy.

"I don't see that the president is picking a fight with the mayor of London at all", she said.

Other local politicians also said Donald Trump should stay away from Birmingham. "And I think on many, many things, Donald Trump is wrong", he said. "Why would you want to stop them coming?"

Mr. President, every day we are having a gun debate because every day 90 people in our country die from gun violence.

The billionaire property developer's sons Donald Trump Jnr and Eric Trump have now rallied behind their father's barbed attacks on London's first Muslim Mayor.
