ESL and Intel team up for $1 million Intel Grand Slam

Intel said that 46 million people watched its Intel Extreme Masters esports event a year ago, and competitive gaming and streaming are both focuses for its hardware moving forward. In addition to the $1,000,000 prize awarded to the first team that can win four out of the last ten $200,000 events held between DreamHack and ESL, there is something to sweeten the pot for other teams.

This means that all tournament PCs will be running the latest Intel Core i7 processors and production computers will be on a combination of Intel Core and Xeon CPUs. Intel Extreme Masters, ESL Pro League, ESL One, ESL National Championships, ESEA, ESL Play, and Intel's new esports arenas all benefit from the deal. "This year, we have made a decision to take our commitment to the next level". The press release further states that "ESL's studios in North America and Europe will be renamed to The Intel Esports Arenas". ESL One Cologne on July 7 to 9 marks the beginning of the Intel Grand Slam.

UK to delay Queen's Speech policy outline amid political turmoil
DUP leader Arlene Foster said she would use her influence responsibly to secure "outcomes that are beneficial for all". Davis said to Sky News: "We'll have to look at the Queen's Speech and what we have to get through".

The Grand Slam is part of a larger announcement in which Intel will become the "Global Technical Partner" of ESL, in which Intel will become "the backbone of all ESL esports operations on a pro, amateur and grassroots level". "We are excited to level-up our partnership with ESL, invest into the development of future esports stars, and create premier events like the Intel Grand Slam". They'll receive $100,000 just for getting in that team's way, as long as they aren't also on the verge of winning with three tournament wins in the series. This isn't the first time the two companies have worked together as they also host the Intel Extreme Masters CS:GO tournament, but this is a sizable step up in how they'll work together going forward.
